The
Silver Crown car is fast as well, in first practice Eric had fast time with a 26.767 at 134.494 MPH. We have some concerns with the motor
but we have until Saturday to work them out. |
Sprint Qualifying Results

New Track Record ! |
Tracy set quick time with a lap of 25.291 - 142.343MPH breaking the
track record. The feature will be run on Saturday with the 69 car on the
pole ! |
Saturday Morning
Update 9:15 |
Silver Crown practice for today's qualifying session is now complete. The
car and motor are still fast with a best lap of 26.634 - 135.161 MPH. The
motor still has some problems when it gets hot. The decision has been made
to leave it in for qualifying and then possibly change it for the race on
Sunday. Hopefully this motor will get us on the front row for the feature. |

Qualifying 10:00 |

Our
early qualifying spot turned out to be a disadvantage with all the IRL
rubber on the track from their practice. Eric turned a best lap of
26.991 - 133.378 for a starting position of 12th for tomorrow's race. With
passing being difficult here Eric will need some good breaks in the race. |

Practice 1:30PM |

With race fuel load and set up the car preformed well still fast at 25.970
- 138.621. Race will be run about 3:45 after IRL practice. |

It
was a flag to flag victory, but not without some suspense! With 3 restarts
and arch rival Dave Steele on your tail, your job is not easy. The last
restart was the scariest as Dave closed in on the first turn, but Tracy
closed the door and took off on the back stretch and widened his lead.
Most of the race Tracy maintained a 4 second lead as he navigated one of
the toughest tracks on the USAC Schedule. Its a little sad that a track
with the character of this one may close its doors forever. |

Morning Practice 10:30 |

 |
With the chevy motor back in the car, lap
times were still competitive. We were 11th quick at 131.372. With a 100
lap feature we have a shot, a lot can happen and Eric was pretty happy
with the set-up. Will report again after the Feature. |

9th Place finish in Silver Crown

Eric patiently advanced the 69 car to 7th place in the first half of the 100 lapper. Later as the fuel load went
down he was forced to give up a few positions and finished the race in
9th. Not what you hope for, but not bad considering the engine change.
Look for more photos and a weekend wrap-up early next week. |
